The Bosch Athlet cordless upright vacuum cleaner range consists of three models: Black, White and Red (or Animal) versions. In this review we explain the differences between each model and provide further details on each Athlet vacuum cleaner.
Cordless vacuum cleaners are a great alternative to standard upright cleaners: they offer very similar performance, yet are lightweight, compact and allow you to move freely around your home without being constrained by the length of a power cord.
Bosch is well known for their home appliances and these range from kettles to vacuums to ovens and dishwashers. Bosch is best known for their high quality dishwashers sold globally, however their vacuums are just as competitive. They are a company that started in 1886 by an engineer named Robert Bosch with the purpose of creating home appliances, technologies and services.
Below you will find a comparison of the different Bosch Athlet vacuum models plus more details on each Bosch Athlet model.
|Model||Athlet Black||Athlet White||Athlet Red/Animal|
|Run time (minutes)||40||60||60|
|Accessories||Not included||Hose, shoulder strap, |

and upholstery nozzles, car cleaning nozzle
The main difference between the 3 Bosch Athlet models are:
The basic Black model has an RRP of £240 vs £320 for the Athlet Red pet version. However we have often seen the White version being sold with up to 45% off, therefore taking it below the price of the lesser Black model. The Red model tends only to be discounted by small amounts.
The White and Red models both have a 25.2 volt battery compared to 18 volts on the Black model. This 40% increase in batter voltage provides more suction power on these Athlet models.
Running time is an important factor when it comes to choosing a cordless vacuum cleaner. The Athlet Black can run for a maximum of 40 minutes after charging while the White and Red models can run for an extra 20 minutes (1 hour). All Athlet models have a short (80% charge) charging time of 3 hours or a full charge will take 6 hours.
The Athlet Black does not come with any accessory kit although this can be purchased separately for around £30; so in fact if you need the accessories then opting for the Athlet White may not actually cost you that much more for a better machine! The White comes with shoulder strap, hose, crevice and upholstery nozzles while the Athlet Red includes the following accessories: hose, small handle, shoulder strap, larger crevice and upholstery nozzles and car cleaning nozzle
This Bosch Athlet has a lithium battery that is long-lasting and with a battery runtime of 60 minutes. It’s cordless and compact to fit in those hard to reach places, yet still has the suction power of a full size vacuum. The batteries need to be charged, yet the convenience of a cordless vacuum is fantastic. The Bosch BCH625KTGB comes with an all-floor brush allowing you to use it on carpet, hardwood floors, laminate and even tile. This sleek, ultra-light vacuum also comes with a flexible nozzle and accessories to reach those hard-to-reach nooks and crannies.
Also, it’s worth mentioning, that this vacuum has “Sensor Bagless Technology” that ensures good air flow and lets you know when it needs to be emptied. It is virtually bag-less, so there are no bags that have to be replaced. It includes a washable filter that is easy to hand-wash, as needed.
This Bosch Athlet is a highly-rated by consumers as a well-rounded vacuum that will get the job done. Quite often it can be found cheaper than the lesser black model!
This slim, lightweight cordless vacuum from Bosch with its 18v lithium ion battery is quite comparable to a 2400 watt full size corded vacuum cleaner. It has a slightly lower run time than the Bosch Athlet White, at a battery runtime of 40 minutes, however, what it lacks in runtime makes up for in cleaning ability.
The Bosch Athlet Black has three power level settings, including a turbo setting for strong vacuum suction. With its flexible nozzle and All-floor brush this vacuum makes cleaning any room in your house simple and painless. This Bosch Athlet has Sensor Bagless Technology for optimum airflow and lets you to know when its bag-less compartment is full. The accessory kit does not come with this set. It can be purchased separately if needed for around £30.
The Bosch Athlet Black cordless vacuum has good reviews as a durable, easy to use cordless vacuum cleaner. However, the fact that you have to pay for the accessory kit is a frustration.
The Bosch Red (or Animal) is the perfect cordless vacuum for pet hair. It comes with a flexible nozzle and a brush that is specifically designed to pick up pet hair faster and more efficiently than a normal vacuum cleaner. It has a long-lasting battery runtime of 60 minutes and cleans pet hair up to 30% faster than the average vacuum.
The Bosch Athlet Animal vacuum cleaner also comes with an accessory kit designed to help vacuum up pet hair. This vacuum by Bosch is highly accredited for being a high-rated vacuum. Like the other vacuums listed above it has Sensor Bagless technology and doesn’t not need to have bags replaced.
All in all, this an excellent vacuum cleaner that any pet owner is sure to love…although its not cheap!
